Mount Rainier
Mount Rainier is a dormant volcano located 54 miles (87 km) southeast of Seattle Washington. Its snow covered cap sits 14,410 feet or almost 3 miles above sea level, being the highest point in the Cascade Mountain Range. Every year almost 2 million people go to visit the National Parks beautiful sites. However, Mount Rainier is still an active and dangerous volcano and could errupt at any moment. If and when it will errupts, volcanic ash and lava will be thrown out of the Volcanoes vent.
Mount Rainier National Park
As you know, Mount Rainier is located in the state of Washington, but did you know that it is 235,625 square acres? It spawns six major rivers and over two dozen glaciers. Over one hundred years ago in March 2 1899, President William McKinley established Mount Rainier the fifth national park in the United States. The last eruption of Mount Rainier was in 1894. The exact location of Mount Rainier is 46 degrees 51' 10 degrees north and 121 degrees 45' 37 degrees west.
